Nā Mea Hoʻokō Kālā No Ke Kākoʻo - Grants

Kamehameha Schools Alumni Association of Oregon and SW Washington - 2019 Kākoʻo Lāhui

  • Funding provided helped with start up for charter and establishing position with the Association of Hawaiian Civic Club to help bridge the connection of Hawaiʻi and Oregon

Oregon Cultural Trust - 2020 Coronavirus Relief Funds for Cultural Support (CRFCS) 

  • Funding provided helped provide additional funding to provide educational support for Hāloa: Youth Summer Program 2021. Due to COVID-19, we were unable to have an in-person camp. OCF allowed for us to provide a 7 week program that helped students stay connected and engage in cultural education. 

Oregon Health Authority - 2020 CARES Act

  • Funding provided through UtopiaPDX 

United Territories of Pacific Islanders Alliance - Portland Chapter - 2020 COVID-19 Support

  • Funding provided helped provide 55 $250 checks to Native Hawaiian families, including $2500 in electronic support for students in need of new chromes or computers for school, over 150 PPE bags that were given to our members and elders in the community, and so much more. 

Kamehameha Schools Alumni Association of Oregon and SW Washington - 2020 Cultural Education 

  • Funding provided helped KALO HCC Education Committee collaborate with Kumu Hula Lanakila Mangauil to bring cultural education classes, Aʻo Aku - Aʻo Mai, to the PNW. These classes were offered virtually and open to all at no cost.

Oregon Pacific Islander Coalition - 2021 Pacific Islander Data Modernization 

  • Funding provided helped to open conversations and speak about disparity in our communities and identify what resources are needed. We were able to provide monetary and technology support for over 20 participants.  

Oregon Community Foundation - 2021 K-12 Summer Programs Grant 

  • Funding provided support of our Hāloa Education Program. This funding was able to provide additional programs, teachings, workshops, invitation of cultural practitioners, and so much more! This was the first year that Hāloa was able to provide scholarships for our students to attend for free.
